Unibrain's
FireRepeaters are pocket sized HUBs with three 1394a/1394b
ports enabling data transfer up to 400 and 800 Mbits/sec respectively.
They allow you to add a connection point into an existing link, extend
FireWire Cable lengths (tested for up to 110 meters) and add or
reinforce DC Power Supply capability of your FireWire connection.

FireRepeater-800
PRO™ 4 port* and 5 port* provide the ability to connect up to
four (4) or five (5) respectively firewire 1394b devices and its
metallic compact case minimizes the risk of physical damage.
The repeater incorporates locking 9 pin bilingual ports, multiple
mounting points and an optional metal bracket to ensure an even more
secure physical connection. FireRepeater-800 PRO™ is based on
two
(4 port model) or three (5 port model) TSB81BA3D Texas Instruments
1394b PHY chips, providing fully reliable 1394b
speed and configuration. A wall mounting plate is provided optionally
(see below for order part numbers).

CAT-5 Repeater 400™

Unibrain’s
CAT5
Repeater-400™ provides a low cost solution
for extending the firewire bus by using standard CAT-5e
(crossover) or CAT-6 type cables. The transmission speed
can reach up to 400 Mbps at maximum length of 70 meters
(230 ft). CAT5 Repeater-400™ is using the new 1394b PHY
from Texas Instruments and EqCologic’s 1394b to UTP cabling.
It is equipped with 2x1394a ports and one UTP RJ45
port and it is fully interoperable with Firewire, SB1394, and
i.LINK Implemenation of IEEE 1394.
